This Place is a Zoo!

Project 365 - October 7

Looks like these kids are in a snow cave in Maine, doesn't it? :)

We traveled to North Carolina the first part of October for Brad's wedding. Tracy dropped me off in Charlotte so I could try to help Brad's fiance's mom with last minute wedding preparations, and he and Jed went on to Tracy's sister's in Asheboro to visit with them for a few days. One of their outings was the North Carolina Zoological Park.

The zoological park, which covers 1500 acres in Asheboro, is one of the best zoos in the country. Animals roam freely in their habitats, which are recreated according to the continent on which their wild relations live. I'm not a big fan of zoos, but this one is nice.

Judging by the pictures Tracy took of their outing, there have been quite a few very cool additions since I was last there in the 90's...lots of hands-on animal-based play areas for kids.

Looks like Jed had a grand time hanging out with his cousin Bailey and her little brother Titus.
