Project 365/127

These photos were taken the same day as the ones in yesterday's post.

The gulls were hanging around the St George's River in Warren in late May because the alewives were running. It was fascinating to stand on the bridge and watch the masses of fish swimming upstream. The gulls were pretty interested in them too. :) This particular gull was actually dive-bombing the water to catch a fish. He would fly up to get some height, then turn beak down and fly straight down into the water. It was incredible! I wish I had gotten a better picture of it, but you can get a better look at him by clicking on the picture to see him coming up out of the water, sans fish. :)

Project 365/126

If you look at these pics in clockwise order, starting at the top left, you'll see what looks like concern on the part of a gull in the group for the loner on the rail behind him.

Project 365/124

I know it's been a while since I last posted - this is the first time since the move.

I was going to try to go slow with the unpacking this time; I should have known I couldn't pull that off. So now all the boxes are unpacked and I'm down to the last few things to put away.

It looks like my Project 365 will have to move to the back burner, but I would like to share a picture now and then.

These seemed like good ones to start with...the sunset over the lake behind our house was glorious last night.

We're on a lake! Come visit!! :)
