Project 365/127

These photos were taken the same day as the ones in yesterday's post.

The gulls were hanging around the St George's River in Warren in late May because the alewives were running. It was fascinating to stand on the bridge and watch the masses of fish swimming upstream. The gulls were pretty interested in them too. :) This particular gull was actually dive-bombing the water to catch a fish. He would fly up to get some height, then turn beak down and fly straight down into the water. It was incredible! I wish I had gotten a better picture of it, but you can get a better look at him by clicking on the picture to see him coming up out of the water, sans fish. :)
