Homeschool Science Experiment #1

I'm hoping to work in more hands-on science experiments into our curriculum this semester, hence the hopeful title. :)

We've been studying steam power this week, and today we tried an experiment in harnessing that power.

The idea was that the pressure from the steam in the tea kettle would push the pinwheels we made around.

It would have worked, too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids. haha

Actually, the problem was the steam was wilting the paper we used to make the pinwheels. So Jed contented himself with blowing on the steam instead. He thinks there's a scientific principle in that somewhere. :)
