Project 365 - July 20We ran across these birds while paddling to the lighthouse on Saturday.
The sun was behind a cloud and we couldn't get a good look at their colors, but we think they're loons.
What say ye?
This one, perched on the dock, greeted us on our return to the cove. I know it's a heron, but I don't know what type.
I'll bet a real Mainer would know all this. :)

I like both bird photos but can't make out the markings well enough to know for sure what they are. The second one is definitely a heron, maybe a great blue?
