Tender Mercies

Project 365 - May 3

Jedidiah did something today he's never done before...he treated two of his stuffed animals like babies.

It started with him noticing that the book rack under his night table would make an excellent bed for them.

He liked how cozy they looked in there.

Then he asked me for a couple of small towels (i.e., washcloths) to use as blankets, and he proceeded to cover them up and put them down for a nap.

We had to sneak out of the room quietly lest we wake them.

Later when I was preparing lunch, he let me know that the bears were hungry too, and he got them situated at the table.

They looked pretty excited about the meal they were served.

Jedidiah didn't know quite what to do when the bears asked for some milk.

He quickly realized he had to hold on to them to make sure they didn't fall off their booster seat while he was trying to help them.

He learned that the hard way. :)

This was just about the sweetest thing I've ever seen him do.

Probably...but only because I'm the one who's done 99% of the feeding and putting to bed in his life. :)

What a wonderful post! I love how cozy Jed's bears look in their "cradle" and the tenderness in his expression as he helps them drink their milk. And I agree, he has certainly inherited your kindness gene.
