Brad, Jenn and their precious kids came over for Thanksgiving lunch today 

and it was absolutely lovely.

My next-door neighbor accompanied me on an errand to Asheville today

and we stopped for lunch at a downtown restaurant.

The food was beautiful, starting with the bruschetta appetizer.

My neighbor's entree...halibut (I think) (or salmon?) and a mushroom tart - 

be sure to click on the picture to enlarge it - so beautiful!

 My entree...shrimp scampi.

Our shared dessert...creme brulee.

The leaves have mostly fallen from the beautiful red tree in the backyard.

The yellow leaves are still brilliant though.

It won't be long before all the leaves are gone.

My next-door neighbor and I went to a quaint little town this evening to see the Downton Abbey movie, 

which was wonderful.

We had dinner at Red Rocks Cafe before the movie, 

and enjoyed the best cup of she-crab soup I've ever had.

We also had little crab cakes, which were almost as good as my mom's.

Love you, mom!  :)

Jed got his learner's permit today!!!!

The world will never be the same again...

 ...at least not our little part of it.  :)

We're finally starting to see some fall color around here.  

Meanwhile, they've had three snowstorms in Golden in the last 2-3 weeks.  

I'm trying hard not to be bitter about that, but it's tough.
