We went by Tracy's office this afternoon to pick up some papers he needed before heading out for a walk,

and Jed immediately got on the computer.

The flight home was pleasant. 

Tracy picked us up at the airport, and had also picked up a birthday cake for Jed,

which was a nice surprise.

Since tomorrow is Jed's birthday, and also the day we're leaving to go home, 

we took Jed out for a birthday dinner tonight.

We got accosted by geese trying to leave the parking lot.  :)

We had a little cake for Jed when we got home.

After helping with the grandchildren in Charlotte for a week, 

I headed to Portsmouth to spend a few days with my parents

(Jed had been staying with them while I was helping). 

We headed to Smithfield Station for lunch, which has become something of a tradition on our visits to Virginia.

I didn't get a picture of the bacon-wrapped scallops, but this shot is pretty good.  :)

Jed had a friend over today for lunch at Pizza Hut and an afternoon at the Splash water park in town.

When we got home, a package was on our front porch with this gorgeous quilt in it,

handmade by my sweet, generous sister-in-law in Connecticut,

for the Minecraft lover in our family!
