Project 365/123

This is what I've been busy doing.

And this.

Packing to move, and skin cancer surgery.
It's been quite a month.

Mother Goose has been busier than I first realized!
Maybe the third adult really was her mother-in-law
come to help with all those babies. :)

We have goslings!
They're hard to see, but there are two little black
and yellow fuzzballs pecking at the ground while
their parents stand guard at the water's edge.

Super moon rising.
The trees in our backyard are so tall,
it's going to be a while before the moon
rises above them for a clearer shot,
and I might be asleep by then. :)

It's too early to set flowers outside yet,
but I'll gladly enjoy these beauties inside for a while longer.

Project 365/118

Back at the beginning of February, I put this sewing table (sans sewing machine) in the corner of the living room where the Christmas tree had stood for 2 glorious months.

At that time, I placed a small Swedish ivy plant nestled in a large pot on the table, but it looked so skimpy that I added another smaller pot of Swedish ivy. I was delighted with the lushness of the two plants just six weeks later as they soaked in some (freakishly) early spring sunshine.

I'm now convinced the plant in the original large pot is some kind of mutant vegetation, as evidenced in the picture above, taken a mere five weeks later. I had to remove the smaller pot as the larger plant grew exponentially, and now it's about to take over the entire table. This, in spite of the fact that our (freakishly) early spring sunshine vanished after just a few days and we've been back in the doldrums of a (sadly) normal Maine spring ever since.

After I do some pruning I'll have an abundance of Swedish ivy rootings if anyone is interested. :)

My May Day was spent sitting in front of this.

With these people.

Not exactly spring-like, but I would take a cozy fire
and creamed chipped beef with homemade waffles
over spring any day of the week. :)

I ran across the funniest thing today -
memes of Ryan Gosling getting in touch with his feminine side.
Thought I would share so my talented artistic friends can read
and dream along with me. :)

It's been a couple of weeks since I saw the geese on our pond and I had assumed their nest had failed
for some reason and they had moved on, so I was thrilled to see them again today swimming about near
our bench. The odd thing, though, is there were three adults. It's always been just a couple, so I'm not
sure what this means.

I've had a cough for three months now.
It's go time.

I own an Apple product.
I'm a full-fledged member of the 21st century.
Finally. :)

Project 365/112

Two days in a row of not taking a picture.
*sigh*

However, I took one on Friday at the
Osborn Finch Wilderness Sanctuary which I didn't post on Friday,
so up it goes today.
It's the Medomak River, which runs through the preserve.

Project 365/111

Today's post isn't a photograph; in fact, you can't see anything at all on the video since I filmed it tonight.
But the sound of a hundred spring peepers is worth more than all the photographs I'll take this year.

Be sure to get rid of the music so you can hear the peeps!
First, scroll down to the music player at the bottom of this screen
Then click on the very large button on the left with the two vertical dashes
Then come back up here to the video and click on the triangle at the bottom left

The only thing worse than my photography skills are my cooking skills,
especially when it comes to experimentation.
My attempts at throwing things together have never been very successful...
until tonight!
This dish was actually not half bad. :)

This is the best picture I took today.
Actually, it's the only picture I took today.
Actually, I took it five minutes ago.
Which begs the question -
is a post with a bad picture better than no post at all?

It's a rhetorical question, of course. :)

And the sunset was as awesome as this picture is bad!

My dad's hobby is bargain hunting.
There aren't too many bargains that can equal candy sales one day after the holiday.
So we get to celebrate holidays twice around here -
once for real, and the second time around a couple of weeks later,
courtesy of Grandpa.

Another lovely gift from our friends in Paraguay!
Though the best gift would be to see their smiling faces.
