If you don't love quilts, this post is not for you.  :)
Two friends from our church in Boulder, a mom and her daughter,
drove down after church and lunch this afternoon
to see the current exhibit at the Golden Quilt Museum.
These are my favorites.
Some of the pics are close-ups of the details.

 I love these tree branches!

This quilt was my favorite, and the quilter is a local.
I love the detail and the inclusions.

I thought this was crocheted, but it's actually fabric instead of fiber.

Marsha and Becki, my companions for the afternoon,
in front of a 200 year old quilt.
We were wondering about the shape of this quilt -
does anyone know why it would be cut the way it is?

We made our resurrection garden today!
Jed loves the grass seed;
I'm not a big fan, so I added some plants to the back of it this year.

March 7, 2017

Some dear friends of ours in Maine sent a gift to Jed years ago - a helicopter that is operated by your smartphone or iPad.  His dad could never get it working and they finally gave up.  I found it the other day when we were purging Jed's toys and he decided to tackle it himself.  You can imagine the pride of a 13-year-old young man who gets a piece of electronic equipment working when his dad, who up to that point has been the computer guru in the family, wasn't able to.  He's holding it back fairly well for the camera, but trust me - he was insufferable for a good while after this.  :)

February 27, 2017

This was a Christmas gift from my brother and sister-in-law.
I texted this pic to my sister-in-law and wrote what the towel says underneath:
"It's really not that far."
She wrote back,
"Yes it is."

January 21, 2017

One of the things I like best about Golden is the town leaves its Christmas lights up through the end of January.
We walked downtown for dinner tonight...
I stepped into the street and got this shot about a block from our house.

Then we walked along Clear Creek, where the lights are really blazing.
I didn't get any shots that come close to expressing how beautiful the entire scene is,
but here are some close-ups.
