June 2, 2019

Our last Sunday in Colorado was a little anti-climactic as our send-off was last week,
but it was sweet in its normalcy.
I took a couple of pictures of our fellowship time in between meetings.

Becki, our "church photographer," took this lovely photo of the whole group after the meetings.

Jed, with a couple of sweet boys I taught in Sunday School.
They thought he was the bee's knees.  :)

This is the group we've gone out to lunch with most every Sunday for the last 3.5 years.
We sure are going to miss these loving folks.

One last drive from Boulder to Golden.
Taking in the beauty, and trying not to cry.

We're happy to be moving back to family,
but we're going to miss Colorado.

June 1, 2018

It's hard to believe how silly a teenage boy can be. :)

The infamous inflatable couch in the basement man cave.
I cannot tell you how much I loathe this thing.
And it seems that Jed's and Tracy's love for it is directly proportional to my loathing.
Thankfully for me, it is not making the move with us.
Jed wanted a photograph to remember it by.  :)

May 26, 2019

Our church had a potluck dinner in our honor today,
as we're moving to North Carolina in a little over a week!

Jed's clever self-deprecating photoshopping.  LOL

We hosted one last get-together for Jed and his friends at our house this evening.
They tried a new escape room and actually escaped before the deadline this time!
Jed was pretty happy about that.  :)

They cut it pretty close, though.  :D

Our last snow of the season!
One month before summer officially begins.  :)

Mother's Day bouquet from Brad.
That boy melts my heart.

May 10, 2019

Jed has always loved rainbows,
even with Easter candy.
:)

Another new low carb dish...stuffed peppers, topped with Pepper Jack cheese - yum!

Woke up to more snow today!

May 6, 2019

A sweetheart of a girl from our church gave out sachets to all the moms today.
She couldn't have possibly chosen a more fitting bag for me.  :)

April 30, 2019

We got a little more snow during the night.

April 29, 2019

We got a really nice snow shower today - it was coming down harder than it usually does here.

Our poor flowers.  :(

This was taken after the snow had stopped.
It was a miracle the flowers weren't bent over with the weight of the snow...it was a heavy one.

April 26, 2019

Jed treated me to a delicious Southern birthday lunch today!
There's a Southern restaurant called Sassafras a few blocks from our house
and I've been wanting to try it for a couple of years (we don't get out much) :)
so we walked down there this afternoon.
I got bbq shrimp and grits - yum!!

Jed got biscuits and gravy.
I've never seen square biscuits before...
not sure what part of the South this is from.  :D

April 24, 2019

I went swimming today to celebrate my birthday!
I swam laps for an hour; it's been quite a while since I did that, and I was exhausted.
But not too exhausted to take a half dozen rides down the water slide shown in the background!
Made me feel like a girl again...
I tried not to squeal, but wasn't very successful.  :D

Brad and his family gave me this beautiful blanket!
Makes my heart puddle all over the floor.  :)

April 22, 2019

Jed had 4 huge projects due today for his homeschool class.
This is him giving one of his presentations.

April 21, 2019

This was the strangest sight driving home today from Boulder to Golden...
this is the eastern view from our southern route, and storm clouds covered the eastern sky.
There were little pockets of rain that were clearly visible on the horizon.
The sky is big here, which is nice, but I sure do miss trees.

April 25, 2019

You probably heard about the horrific crash on I-70 west of Denver that involved 28 vehicles
and claimed 4 lives.
Tracy and Jed were hiking on North Table Mountain when they saw the smoke and took this photo.
They thought the mall was on fire...the mesa is blocking the view of the highway.
I've been down that mountain road plenty of times, and even in a SUV it's intimidating.

April 19, 2019

Hiking up the back side of North Table Mountain.
Folks coming down kept warning about rattlesnakes at the top,
but thankfully we saw no sign of them.

A beautiful day driving along the mountains from Boulder back home to Golden.

April 2, 2019

Jed is not much of a spender, and he has managed to accumulate quite a few Amazon gift cards.
He finally decided to use one of them to buy headphones,
which is super-exciting to me because he's always borrowing mine.  :)

I made grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch today and I tried out my new bread.
It definitely tastes better toasted!
Not nearly as awesome as Jed's, but good enough for now.
